Children and their parents got an up-close peek into the firefighter's world Saturday at the Weston Volunteer Fire Department Open House. Kids wore plastic fireman's helmets and held fire truck balloons as they were shown how to escape a house safely in a fire, drive a fire engine and douse a blaze with a fire hose, with the help of some real firefighters. And all watched in amazement as crews pried open a van with the Jaws of Life.
